System requirements

When installing or starting the demo version of KnowHowDB, the following system requirements are automatically checked. You will be informed if any components are missing.

.Net Framework version 2.0 or higher

KnowHowDB is programmed using the latest Microsoft .NET development environment, and therefore requires the free .NET Framework software, version 2.0 or higher.

Internet Explorer

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher is required (min. version 5.5 recommended) and a cipher strength of 128 bits. These can be checked on Internet Explorer (click on ? in the menu, and then on Info).

MDAC

Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 (English language recommended) is required. If you have Microsoft Office installed on your PC, there will usually be no need to install MDAC.

Download driver

These components are available free of charge in the download area or on the Internet.

133 MHz Pentium-class processor.

Memory

32MB memory (RAM), 128MB recommended.

Hard disk

120MB free hard-disk storage on the system drive, 160MB free hard-disk storage on the installation drive.

Monitor

Monitors should have a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, with 256 colours. We recommend at least 1024 x 768 pixels.
