Search

The search engine supports you by listing the relevant documents on the top of the results list. Depending on whether the search word is in the document name or in the content the weight is differently. The amount of appearance of a search string will be also included in the calculation of the score.

The following search queries are available:

• Wildcards search for house* gets even household
• Similarity search (fuzzy search) for example Janis finds Yannis and Jannis
• The term "forest trees" ~ finds documents which the word forest and the trees are within 10 words.
• Tags: house - only documents will be found in which house occurs in the metafield tag
• Search for document id, autoid and endings
• And many more ...

Lucene (search engine)

KnowHowDB is based on the "open source" search engine project Lucene. Jakarta Lucene is a powerful, full-featured text search engine, which is also use on Wikipedia. The KnowHowDB documents are indexed by Lucene and with the help of this index, information will be searched. Scalable, high-performance indexing, and the powerful, accurate and efficient search algorithms have made the decision easy.

Sort / group

All lists can be sorted by clicking on the column header. Subtracting one column via drag and drop into the field on the top, the list is grouped.

For better navigation in predefined filters are available, such as "My Documents" "Last modified", "most open", etc.
