Link Service

Link Service is required by KnowHowDB so that terms can be searched for in attached links and not just in entries. All recognizable file extensions are indexed by Link Service and stored in an index database. Windows already recognizes some extensions by default. To allow PDF files to be searched, for example, an “iFilter” is required to enable Link Service to index PDF files. Additional iFilters can be installed as required.

Link Service is available for the single and multiuser version.

In addition, all text documents with any extension can also be added and indexed as text.

The installation and the necessary settings are done in less than 2 minutes. The link service is part of the KnowHowDB and can be purchased as an option. In the settings must be defined only the database to be indexed, where the index should be stored in the database, and what time period the indexing should be launched.
