Export / Import

Several import and export formats are available for exchanging data between KnowHowDB and other applications.

Importing KnowHowDB data from previous versions

All records including text, categories, images and links from previous databases (version 2.42 or higher) can be imported in two steps. Simply select the required records or categories from the old database, then import them into the new one.

Exchanging data with other applications

The .XML format enables you not only to exchange data between different KnowHowDB databases, but also to connect to other applications. This includes text, images, categories and links..

Files and folders

You can import any amount of data from Windows Explorer at the click of a mouse. Text and images from common file formats such as .DOC, .RTF, .HTML and .TXT can be imported into KnowHowDB records. The title is taken from the file name. If a format is not recognized, this is indicated in the link list.
