Individual users and user groups are defined in the user administration function. This has the benefit that everyone logs onto the system personally, and all records are therefore created with the relevant user name and date. Users and user groups are needed to provide authorizations for records and categories.
These groups can also be used to set individual KnowHowDB menu authorizations, so that particular functions are not available to everyone.
It only takes a moment to set up a new user. The following details are required:
The currently opened user is assigned to a user group (e.g. department) with the required authorizations. This is handy, as it means that rights don’t have to be entered separately for each user.
