Database (Access or SQL)

All records, categories and formats are held centrally in either an Access database or an SQL database.

KnowHowDB allows you to create any number of environments. This means mixed Access and SQL databases can be integrated and opened.

• A password prevents Access databases being opened outside KnowHowDB.
• Databases can be compressed at the click of a button.

Microsoft Access

There’s no need to install or licence Microsoft Access, because the software is already integrated into KnowHowDB. There are no additional costs for this.

SQL Server Express Edition

SQL Server Express is a free database, and the successor to Microsoft Desktop Engine (MSDE). Recommended prerequisites: 1GHz CPU with 512MB memory and 170MB free hard-disk storage for the installation.

• Max. number of users: 1'000
